Trident Lakes Swims
Anglers can choose to fish right in front of the chalet or anywhere around the lakes. It is possible for anglers to fish back-to-back on the carp and cat lakes.
Both lakes have hard bottoms and some silty areas. The depths shown in the photo are at high water levels. Like many French lakes, the levels can drop by up to 18 inches if there is a long dry summer. Trident Lakes have plenty of depth to cope with this.
Trident Lakes Fishing
On 3rd January 2019, the carp lake was stocked with 80 virgin carp carp in readiness for its first fishing season. The stock weights were 2 x 40s, 18 x 30s and 60 x 20s. The carp stocked included 8 potential target fish weighing between 36 and 49lb. The cat lake also received its first resident, a monster cat weighing 135lb. Another 8 cats weighing between 20 and 60lb were stocked in February 2019 and a further 27 cats weighing between 30 and 60 pounds were stored in June 2019. Cabin facilities are excellent with a plentiful supply of hot water. Lovely setting but close to town amenities. We would recommend Bigot Lakes. Guiliany was very helpful -thank you.
Suggestions – creation of swims with more room for 2 more bivvies. Provision of a trolley as against wheelbarrow for movement of equipment around the lake.
Fishing tactics: baiting litter.
41 fish caught by 1 angler, only fishing day/evening:
1 x 50lb+, Spencer’s PB.
1 X 45lb+
4 x 35lb+
9 x 30lb+
11 x 25lb+
13 x 20lb+
2 x 15lb+
Had a lovely fishing trip at Trident Lakes! A nice quiet break. Just what the doctor ordered after a SHIT 18 months! Had penty of fish, facilities and accomobation are great. Just perfect!
Suggetions: just to many small catfish.
We would recommend Bigot Lakes.
Fishing tactics: dead baits over pellets for cats. Boilies and particles for carp.
33 fish in total:
4 x 35lb, including a common carp at 39lb,PB.
2 X 30lb+
8 x 25lb+
8 x 20lb+
1 x 15lb+
10 Catfish: 1 x 46lb, 1 x 33lb, 1 x 26lb, 1 x 25lb, 2 x 20lb, 4 x 15lb+.
Facilities are excellent. Trident Lake needs work to level out bank sides due to tyre grooves all the way around. Although the fishing as slow, we all enjoyed our stay.
Fishing Tactics: Single pop up on Ronnie & snowman.
10 Fish: 7 Carp – 2 x 30s, 5 x 20s and 3 tench (8 to 10lb)
NICEST LOOKING BIGOT LAKE
Lovely place and nicest looking of the Bigot Lakes. Cabin all you need and plenty of hot water. Fridge and freezer great. Will come back in a couple of years, but more fish needed as a struggle at times for bites. Another barrow is needed – takes too long to move all the gear. Bring bite cream – were bitten most nights.
Fishing Tactics: All baits caught. Fish margins using plenty of feed. Most fish caught at night – really struggled for bites during the day.
15 Fish: 11 carp – 1 x 50, 2 x 30s and 8 x 20s. 4 tench 3 to 4lb.
Facilities are great. Fishing was slow in the daytime due to really hot weather and high pressure. The fishing will be better in cooler weather conditions.
Fishing Tactics: Fished to left and rear margins early morning and late evening. Pop ups worked best.
24 Fish: 7 x 30s, 16 x 20s and 1 x 55lb catfish
ENJOYED THE PEACE AND QUIET
Facilities good. Lake side needs attention lots of over hanging trees. Slipped bank two of us slipped and fell. Enjoyed the peace and quiet but needs some TLC. But I have fished lots of lakes in France (Bigot Lakes included) and I am sure next year you will be fully booked.
Fishing Tactics :
13 in total, comprising 3 x 30’s to 37lb 12oz, 7 x 20’s to 25lb, 2 tench (5 and 6lb), 1 pike 7lb.
